The A&E Radiology Survival Course - for Doctors

about the course

This Course has been running for over 10 years. It began as an in-house series of tutorials for local Doctors working in the Emergency Department. It is now the largest radiology teaching course in the U.K. ... with over 800 registrants attending each year.

Each one day course provides a structured approach to interpreting radiographs obtained in the Emergency Department. Many radiological tricks of the trade are described which will enable the detection of abnormalities which are otherwise not immediately obvious. The teaching programme is based on short lectures, teaching quizzes, and interactive tutorials with Dr. Simon Morley and / or Dr. Denis Remedios utilising the long range mouse and a large screen drawing facility.

NB. The emphasis on this course is skeletal trauma. Analysis of Emergency Department chest radiographs ( CXRs ) requires much more than a token lecture or two. As a consequence we have created a separate all day CXR course : The Chest X-Ray Survival Course - for Doctors. Those seeking chest film teaching / tutorials can register for this companion course here.

Note: 7 Category One CPD CREDITS have been awarded by The Royal College of Radiologists to all CPD participants who attend this course.

(1) Cancellations received more than 21 days prior to a course will receive a 75% refund of the fee paid. Cancellations received less than 21 days prior to a course will receive a 25% refund of the fee paid. Non attendance will not entitle the registrant to a refund.

(2) Transfer to a later or future course. If a registrant makes a cancellation and requests a simple transfer to a future course at the fee already paid... this will not normally be arranged. In general, a cancellation cannot be transferred (at the fee paid) to a future course because places cannot be filled at short notice. However, the timing of the cancellation is important. Our transfer policy is as follows: a) a cancellation - with a request for a transfer to a future course - which is received more than 28 days prior to the course will be transferred; b) any registrant making a cancellation – for whatever reason – less than 28 days prior to a course will not be transferred to a future course (at the fee already paid) and, instead, the registrant will receive the % refund as per (1) above.

(3) Returned cheques will incur an administration charge of £15.

the registration fee includes

  • All refreshments
  • Excellent lunch
