about the course

In 1985 Dr. Lol Berman and Dr. Gerald de Lacey published the first description of a radiographer alert system in the U.K. See: Berman L, de Lacey G, et al. Reducing errors in the accident department; a simple method using Radiographers. BMJ 1985: 290 : 421-422. Subsequently, this Red Dot scheme was introduced throughout the U.K. It has now been extended so that in many departments Radiographers undertake the formal reporting of Emergency Department radiographs.

The one day course has been designed to meet the specific needs of Radiographers. The day has been divided into four periods. Each period commences with 15 minute lectures followed by an interactive tutorial with Dr. Simon Morley and the long range mouse. Use is made of teaching quizzes - i.e. real life cases - with pairs of registrants examining and discussing the images together. All tutorials and quizzes utilise digital images and easy to use software.

Essential booking information

1.	Confirmation of a booking / place on a course will only be sent by email.
2.	Please provide a reliable email address; one which is checked regularly for correspondence; one which allows for attachments up to 1mB.
3.	No booking / bookings will be accepted without payment.
4.	If the address provided in the Payment section does not match that of the card owner - then Worldpay will not accept the transaction. In other words, the booking will not have been accompanied by the payment and so the booking will not be accepted.

(1) Cancellations received more than 21 days prior to a course will receive a 75% refund of the fee paid. Cancellations received less than 21 days prior to a course will receive a 25% refund of the fee paid. Non attendance will not entitle the registrant to a refund.

(2) Transfer to a later or future course. If a registrant makes a cancellation and requests a simple transfer to a future course at the fee already paid... this will not normally be arranged. In general, a cancellation cannot be transferred (at the fee paid) to a future course because places cannot be filled at short notice. However, the timing of the cancellation is important. Our transfer policy is as follows: a) a cancellation - with a request for a transfer to a future course - which is received more than 28 days prior to the course will be transferred; b) any registrant making a cancellation – for whatever reason – less than 28 days prior to a course will not be transferred to a future course (at the fee already paid) and, instead, the registrant will receive the % refund as per (1) above.

(3) Returned cheques will incur an administration charge of £15.
