ANSWER	ANSWER VIEW Four midface fractures are shown on this occipitomental view. A so called Tripod Fracture of the right side of the face. *See : Accident & Emergency Radiology : A Survival Guide (3rd edition) : Pages 58-63* The 3rd edition will be published in July 2014.

CASE 2

HISTORY	HISTORY Hit the midfoot and forefoot against a root when running through a wood.
QUESTION	QUESTION Normal or abnormal? Specifically: do the Lisfranc joints appear normal?
RADIOGRAPHS	RADIOGRAPHS
ANSWER	ANSWER VIEW The appearances are normal. No abnormality shown in relation to the Lisfranc joints on this single straight AP radiograph of the foot.This radiograph provides an assessment of the Lisfranc joint at the base of the 2nd metatarsal (MT). ( NB To evaluate the Lisfranc joint at the base of the 3rd MT - the oblique view of the foot would need to be scrutinised ). *See : Accident & Emergency Radiology : A Survival Guide (3rd edition) : Pages 295-297* The 3rd edition will be published in July 2014.

HISTORY	HISTORY Recent loss of weight and occasional pain in the chest
QUESTION	QUESTION Explain these shadows.
RADIOGRAPHS	RADIOGRAPHS
ANSWER	ANSWER VIEW Predominantly right sided shadowing / masses. The appearances are consistent with right paratracheal, mediastinal, and right hilar lymph node enlargement. Old, unimportant, healed fracture of the left clavicle .

QUESTION	QUESTION What is the likely explanation for this appearance?
RADIOGRAPHS	RADIOGRAPHS
ANSWER	ANSWER VIEW The position and shape of the mass is consistent with an aneurysm of the arch of the aorta.
